Voting...A civic duty that can be an intimidating and daunting task.
Hopefully this will help you be prepared and informed!
How do I register to vote?
Complete the voter registration application (available here or at hundreds of locations across the state). Completed applications must be submitted to the county election officer where the applicant lives. You can find the address and county election office information here.
If I want to vote in the General Election, do I still have time to register?
Yes! You have until 15 days prior to the election to submit the voter registration application.
Where do I go to vote?
For a listing of where to vote go to http://www.voteks.org/ . You can also find out which machines or method of voting will be available as well as instructions on how to work the machines.
What do I do when I go vote?
Lucikly, there are friendly volunteers there to guide you through every step of the process. When you get up to the registration table, give them your name. (First time voters must provide one valid photo identification such as a Kansas driver's license, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government documentation that shows name and address.) You will be asked to sign by your name. They will then show you the next available voting booth/station. My friendly assistant showed me what to do, and I was done in less than 2 minutes! If you need help - PLEASE ASK!
