Don’t get me wrong, I hug my employer and primary financial institution. And I also hugged our Bill Pay, right when we implemented it. At BWCU, we like to stay ahead of the game, offering products before they’re commodities. When we rolled out online banking, we were one of the first local financial institutions to the market, and the same is true for mobile banking. Unfortunately, Bill Pay, while wonderful in its initial concept and functionality, is no longer assisting me in my conquest to pretend I don’t have financial responsibilities. Sure, the money comes out of my account to pay my bills, but if I don’t physically open a bill or write a check, it’s almost like not paying bills. Right? Oh, come on, indulge my fantasy! Well, as hot as the Bill Pay concept is, our product only let me setup a set recurring bill (like a car payment). But when it came to constantly fluctuating utility bills, I was stuck in the mindless drabble of paying manually or contacting each company individually to setup an auto-pay. But, no more! B-Dub’s Bill Pay is getting a makeover, complete with shiny bedazzle jewels! Well, the jewels are figurative, of course. Unless…..
In October, you’ll see a revamped Bill Pay; including bill presentment (Your bills grow manners and come to your Bill Pay account, rather than you going to them. Then, in the true nature of a relationship, you tell them what to do. And they do it!), a cleaner, more user-friendly design, multiple funding account functionality (Yup, if you have multiple checking accounts, who are we to say you can only use one? This is America, after all! Land of opportunity!), expanded search and reporting options, and the ability to categorize payments. And all of these new features are coupled with the same payment guarantee you have today! Only now you can see which guaranteed delivery date corresponds with the date you make your payment. Can you say, “UPGRADE!”
If you’re already using our Bill Pay product, you’ll be upgraded in October, along with all of your payees, recurring payments, and one year of history. Keep an eye on our website for more details. I know I will!
