I can’t isolate when it started happening, but when it comes to certain tasks—I’ve found myself procrastinating. A lot. This includes avoiding logging into Net-24 to take care of my day-to-day finances. I don’t mind logging into Facebook, some would argue a strikingly similar task. I would be the one arguing with them, obviously. And even worse, after procrastinating, I inevitably forget about the task until the very last minute (like when I’m driving to work).

Don’t get me wrong, I hug my employer and primary financial institution. And I also hugged our Bill Pay, right when we implemented it. At BWCU, we like to stay ahead of the game, offering products before they’re commodities. When we rolled out online banking, we were one of the first local financial institutions to the market, and the same is true for mobile banking. Unfortunately, Bill Pay, while wonderful in its initial concept and functionality, is no longer assisting me in my conquest to pretend I don’t have financial responsibilities.

Was I a fan of the original 90210? I won’t lie, yes I was. But I lost interest shortly after their high school graduation and tuned in again for Donna and David’s wedding. What? It was the end of an era! Looking back, I likely lost interest because I was old enough to have a life, but remember becoming bored. So unlike most fans I DID NOT want the 90210 remix to be like the original. Don’t get me wrong, I still catch reruns on Soap Network (even post-high school epis), but I didn’t have any delusions of an amazing pilot or the sky opening up and angels shining down on the next great series. Much as understanding why Audrina keeps going back to Justin Bobby, determining your retirement savings goal is perplexing. I rummage around on the Internet using retirement calculators only to become more frustrated and confused. Some say I need millions. Others are shrouded in mystery providing the very insightful advice, “You’re on the right track!” And I’m even more frustrated with articles saying “You’re young! If you save anything you’re ahead of the game.” Is that really true? Based on some of the lofty figures I see, I don’t think “anything” will cut it. I’m a numbers girl. Give me a goal and I’ll find a way to hit it.

Apparently green is the new everything—the new black, the new pink, and the newest way to save the world.
